This community is predicated on building upon our wishes, hopes and desires.  The strength of the community is that we are each free to interpret what a wish means to us.  Perhaps I am taking it a bit too far, but a wish is sometimes like a dream, at least to me.  When I dream about the perfect food, I always think of being on a porch, during a warm summers day, with an ice cold glass of raspberry lemonade.  Why raspberry lemonade?  Because it’s delicious!

Raspberry Lemonade – Like Summer All The Time

Lemonade can have several different meanings to different people.  Some think of children working a lemonade stand, others, like me, think of a hot summers day, others might think of sour lemon juice.  But when you make the perfect glass of lemonade, you’ve created something unique.  Attempting to balance the tartness of lemon, while not over-sweetening your drink, can be a relative challenge.  Lemonade also lends itself quite well to using multiple sweet fruits, like strawberry or blueberry.

To make your lemonade, you need 1 cup sugar, 1 cup warm water, 1 cup raspberry (puree and make sure you put it through some kind of mesh sieve so you don’t have a lot of seeds), 1 cup lemon, 5 cups cold water.  You’re going to mix your warm water and sugar to create a simple syrup (heating over a medium low heat until all the sugar is dissolved into the water).  Take the pureed raspberry mixture and lemon juice with the simply syrup.  Slowly mix in with the simple syrup, allow to cool and add the 5 cups of cold water.  Garnish with extra berries
