Cooking 4 Life: Fluffy Scrambled Eggs, It’s All About The Little Things

We remember the big vacations, usually to another country, a long road trip or something way outside what we normally do.  However, as we grow older, we tend to think about those little things that we did, especially from our childhood.  For many of us, that meant a home cooked breakfast.  Sometimes, it was a big bowl of cereal (pick your favorite, we all have one), other time it was French toast, but for me, nothing beats some fluffy scrambled eggs.  It’s really the perfect breakfast, enough protein for the day, light on your stomach and simple to prepare. 

The Small Things We Always Remember

It’s these small acts that tend to stay with you when you get older.  The morning you wake up feeling under the weather, you remember how mom use to make you breakfast and you’d feel better.  Maybe it was surprising a loved one with breakfast, or unsuccessfully tried to surprise someone.  Heck, nothing is more romantic than breakfast in bed, especially if it’s tasty!

How To Make The Perfect Scrambled Eggs

However, despite being easy to prepare, many people either over cook their eggs, or try to make “omelets” that they just chop up and call scrambled eggs.  With a few simple cooking techniques you can make delicious eggs that you can customize however you want.  Whether it’s a simple scrambled egg, or something with more flourish like scrambled eggs with balsamic onions, roasted potato and pepperonata sauce. 

So, without further ado, here's our thrid Cooking4Life recipe. Scrambled eggs are relatively simple to make.  All you really need are a few eggs (or Eggbeaters), some olive oil or butter (or Pam).   Simply crack the egg in a bowl and scramble briskly with a fork.  Usually you start off with 3 eggs and either a drop of milk or a little bit of butter.  Next put in pan and continue stirring as it cooks.  The more you stir, the fluffier your eggs will be.  When in doubt – watch one of my favorite chefs, Gordon Ramsay, show you how to make “sublime scrambled eggs”

Wow, I've seen the Brits use pots as opposed to pans to cook their eggs and always thought it was a bit odd. Now I see how the master himself creates creamed eggs. Those look ethreal and delicious. Thanks for the instructional! Anything with a massive pat of butter isn't a hard sell for real foodies.
