Above & Beyond

When I was a kid, I had a facination with airplanes. That facination turned into an obession with flying and I soon found myself wanteing to become a pilot at a very early age.

While I was able to obtain my Private Pilots License in 1992, life's career path took me in another direction but I have always held onto the dream of becoming a commercial airline pilot.  I hold commercial pilots in high regard for many reasons and now we can all admire this profession and in particular one Southwest pilot who went above and beyond to hold his plane at LAX so that a late arriving passenger could make the flight to see his dying grandson.

One small step for pilots, one giant leap for mankind.

The 2 year-old boy Caden Rogers died, but grandfather Mark Dickinson was able to complete his connecting itinerary and arrive in Colorado before the boy's death.
