Bottle & Can Recycling Fufilled

Wish you didn’t have to discard your empty bottles and cans into the trash can, to only be hauled off for a life in a land fill?

Living and working in the bay area of California is wonderful in too many ways to mention here, one conservation tinged plus is the readily available recycle bins and containers in public places. When needing to dispose of the that guzzled latte cup or a downed vitamin water bottle, look no further than the trash can, chances are the bin itself has a recycling section preordained for such items. While this may be the trend out on the streets, it was not the trend in my office. Our building management (who shall not be named) opted against providing recycling services to its tenants for anything other than paper. After seeing too many bottles and cans, mostly diet coke, sitting in the garbage, I decided to take matters into my own hands and set up a recycler system. That’s where the online service, Bottles and Cans, came to the rescue.

I ordered a starter kit for my office and within a couple weeks they sent the sizable bin and liner on the house, that’s right folks – free of charge! Happily, this newbie addition to the kitchen/break room has gotten a lot of attention and is already half way full. If “doing the right thing,” isn’t motivation enough, the California Refund for each bottle and can is 5 cents a pop which could add up to a nice little office pizza party, or nice lunch for one. Thought to share this little known gem! Start you own recycling progam
