Can We Eat to Starve Cancer?

The old adage, "you are what you eat," may have just had a re-birth, one could say you are what you don't eat according to William Li. It looks like cutting off the blood supply, a so-called power cable, could be one of the most important factors in fighting disease.

"The obvious thing is to think about what we could remove from our diet. But I took a completely opposite approach and began asking: What could we be adding to our diet that could boost the body’s defense system? In other words, can we eat to starve cancer?” (William Li)

William Li heads the Angiogenesis Foundation, a nonprofit that is re-conceptualizing global disease fighting. Founded in 1994, the Angiogenesis Foundation is dedicated to using a new approach based on angiogenesis, the growth of new capillary blood vessels in the body.

"During my research I found a good resource put together by Christianna Pierce on foods known for their anti-angiogenic and anti-cancer properties."
