La Fete Nationale!

Bastille Day commemorates the storming of the Bastille on July 14th, 1789, by the Parisian revolutionaries. The storming of the Bastille was the symbol of the victory of the French people against the Monarchy.
What started as a revolt became a French Revolution that brought radical social and political change and the emergence of the modern political world.

Enjoy a bottle of great wine? How about deliciously creamy and complex cheese? All paired with a captivating cinematic masterpiece? If the answer is: yes, yes and YES (and it should be) then you have the French to thank, or at least acknowledge. While I’m by no means a “Francophile,” I can appreciate the vast and stunningly enriching contributions the French have offered up to the world at large. How will you celebrate Bastille Day (or La Fete Nationale), the French National Day observed on the 14th of July? In France, festivals and official ceremonies abound and you can be sure that wine and cheese will be offered. Bon appétit!
