Call To Action: New York City Marathoners

A Marathon is a State of Mind

Calling all runners.

What if on Sunday we just go ahead and do what we love?

Put on the running shoes and take what we need for our normal 3-5 hour training run. After all, 99.9% of our running is done without the benefit of organizers, generators, tents, news, water stations, mile markers, finish lines, police protection, medical services, souvenir vendors, merchandise and food vendors, massage stations or the beer garden at the end!

What if 20-40K marathoners just modified their training run a bit?

Just consider adding one or more of the following:

  • to lend a hand--we all have a skill
  • share a smile
  • tell someone that has lost it all, that it will be OK
  • let your fellow humans know that they are not alone
  • help patch their sails
  • be the wind in their sails

Everyone is running a marathon of their own, in their own way, and at their own pace.

As runners we know how fragile life and our environment health is as we spend hours immersed in both. We know how far we can go on our own

We can start and end where and when we like.

Share "A Marathon is a State of Mind" and or express your wish and inspire others.

So why not start right here, right now to lead by example?

Thanks for the inspiration, I will go for my marathon tomorrow and help with the cleanup.
